Job Title: Senior Airworthiness Engineer

Location: Bristol

Salary: £47,683 - £52,426 + £4k Bonus

Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Airworthiness Engineer to join our dynamic team at Anson McCade. This role is crucial for the assurance of safety and compliance in advanced aviation technologies. You will play a key role in our Development, Production, and Export clearance initiatives, providing independent assurance and serving as the primary contact for airworthiness issues.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Independent Airworthiness Assurance: Execute independent assurance tasks related to design certification, ensuring that qualification and safety evidence supports airworthiness certification across multiple programs.
  • Coordination of Flight Limitations: Act as the primary airworthiness contact, coordinating flight limitations with System Design Responsibility teams, Flight Operations, and external stakeholders to guarantee safety and compliance.
  • Production of Flight Certification: Develop and issue Flight Certification (Military Permit to Fly) for both Development and Production Aircraft, along with Flight Certification (Release to Service) for Export Clients.
  • Management of Flight Safety Procedures: Address urgent flight safety concerns for Development aircraft by issuing Flight Safety Procedures, including Additional Flight Limitations and Flight Safety Messages to operators across various countries.
  • Enhancement of Processes: Contribute to the ongoing improvement of flight certification and design certification processes, enhancing overall airworthiness standards.
  • Project Representation: Represent Airworthiness in Typhoon project meetings and provide assistance in external customer meetings, ensuring clarity and alignment on airworthiness requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Aircraft Systems: Proven experience in the design and analysis of avionic and mechanical systems, with a solid grasp of aerodynamic principles.
  • Control of Design Configuration: Skilled in managing design configuration control processes throughout the aircraft lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Certification Processes: Comprehensive understanding of the standards and procedures necessary for certifying aircraft design and ensuring airworthiness.
  • Familiarity with Aircraft Operations: Knowledgeable about the operational aspects of aircraft, including flight operations and associated safety procedures.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in applying analytical methods to establish integrated aircraft-level flight limitations, ensuring thorough safety and performance evaluations.
