About the Role

The Powys CAMHS School In-Reach Service is seeking a skilled mental health professional to join our team. As a School Mental Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting schools to promote emotional health and wellbeing among learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and support to school staff on mental health and wellbeing issues.
  • Deliver training and learning programs to professionals and learners on emotional health and wellbeing topics.
  • Work collaboratively with the Powys CAMHS School In-Reach Team and other services to improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Support the development of school-based mental health initiatives and programs.
  • Contribute to the collection of data and evaluation of service effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Registered Healthcare Professional with relevant qualifications and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of mental health legislation and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience of working with children and young people to support emotional health and wellbeing.
