Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled professional to assume the role of Commercial Operations Manager for our esteemed client, a prominent player in the infrastructure sector.


Compensation:
£50,000 - £65,000 + Pension + Hybrid Working Options

Industry Focus:
Construction / Mining / Nuclear / Rail / Refinery / Chemical

About the Client:
Our client is a leading operator in the COMAH infrastructure domain, managing several critical energy sites across the UK. They are currently engaged in innovative projects related to Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), Hydrogen, and alternative energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Regularly review and update Terms and Conditions to ensure compliance with legal and commercial standards.
  • Analyze project contract data to mitigate risks and ensure alignment of subcontractor terms with overarching agreements.
  • Provide essential financial insights to the Finance team, including supplier expenses, client recoveries, and project milestone payments.
  • Prepare comprehensive commercial reports, including monthly cost-value reconciliations, project forecasts, short-term cash flow assessments, and budget management.
  • Assist in establishing financial objectives and optimizing contract performance.
  • Draft and advise on contract terms throughout negotiations and execution phases.
  • Prepare and implement subcontract terms, overseeing subcontractor activities across the organization.

Collaboration:
Work closely with commercial, operational, design, and supplier teams to ensure seamless project execution while enhancing the business's understanding of contractual obligations and commercial elements.


Contractual Management:
  • Review and formalize contractual requirements by submitting necessary notifications, including Early Warnings, Compensation Events/Variations, and Extensions of Time.
  • Monitor and report on subcontractor performance metrics.

Qualifications:
Proficient in MF1, JCT, and bespoke contract drafting. A strong grasp of financial principles, including cash flow management and monitoring of planned versus actual projections. Demonstrated experience in commercial management within integrated, multi-organization project teams. Expertise in project control processes and commercial delivery. Excellent report writing and presentation capabilities.
