About the Role

We are seeking an experienced District Nurse to join our team as a Band 7 District Nurse Team Lead. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the District Nursing Team, ensuring high-quality patient care and effective team management.
  • Assess patient needs and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans in accordance with agreed standards.
  • Facilitate educational programs for basic, post-basic, and in-service training, in close liaison with the Learning and Development Team.
  • Lead and facilitate patient-focused, innovative research-based practice, in line with Surrey Downs Health and Care objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate the team's workload, ensuring adequate cover and skill mix at all times.
  • Provide specialist knowledge and advice to influence the Surrey Downs Health and Care strategic agenda.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive records, adhering to procedures and standards of care.
  • Identify workforce planning issues and participate in the recruitment, selection, and retention of clinical staff.
  • Support and facilitate the learning environment for pre and post-registration students as required.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to at all times, and manage budgets effectively.
  • Participate in research and development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Assist with the resolution of complaints within the clinical specialty or sphere of responsibility.
  • Negotiate and work effectively across all agencies for the maximum effectiveness of care.
  • Lead and implement the SDH&C Clinical Governance Strategy within your practice area, facilitating and instigating clinical audit and monitoring of care.
  • Lead and implement the SDH&C Risk Management Strategy within your practice area, ensuring all processes are adhered to.
