About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing technologies in our Global Amazon Warehouse & Delivery Network.

Your primary focus will be on maintaining our equipment safely and to a high standard, with a focus on planned preventative maintenance. You will engage in the mitigation of risks by proactively addressing and resolving issues, raising the availability and quality of the equipment.

You will work closely with our operational team, customers, and leaders to ensure the smooth operation of our equipment. This role includes working in a non-traditional shift pattern, which may include nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure compliance with all health & safety standards and regulations, prioritizing health & safety best practices in all work carried out.
  2. Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site, utilizing your skills in electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  3. React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams, and work efficiently to fix the issue.
  4. Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
  5. Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
  6. Support and learn from Senior Reliability Engineering Technicians.
  7. Manage contractors effectively.
Requirements
  1. Served a full engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent (must hold Level 3 qualification with satisfactory Guided Learning Hours).
  2. Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  3. Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems.
  4. Experience fault finding within MHE (Material Handling Equipment)/Automation systems.
  5. Experience in interpreting both mechanical and electrical drawings.
  6. Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc, BEng.
  2. Experience of high voltage switching.
  3. Experience of sortation machines.
  4. Experience of maintaining/configuring barcode scanners.
  5. Experience of print and apply machines.
  6. Experience in fault finding on building equipment i.e. HVAC, Dock Doors, plumbing and general building maintenance tasks.
