Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation of an Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration system (EPMA) for Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) Community Hospitals. This will involve working closely with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and professionals to ensure the successful implementation and safe utilisation of the EPMA system.

Key Duties
  • Use specialist knowledge and experience to test, develop and configure systems.
  • Provide advice to Ward Managers, Ward staff, and other clinical staff on developing effective and efficient workflows for the project implementation and roll-out of the EPMA system.
  • Facilitate and participate in the delivery of specialist training to Registered Nurses, Consultants, Doctors, Pharmacy, Therapy staff and other specialties who will interact with the EPMA system.
  • Support the EPMA team to undertake a review of policies and Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring that these are written and ratified before implementation of the EPMA system.
  • Identify risks and produce appropriate mitigation plans.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Registered Nurse - currently registered with NMC.
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical audit.
  • Masters or equivalent experience.
  • Teaching and assessing skills.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working within a hospital setting and with digital systems or on digital projects. The successful candidate will have a passion for digital innovation and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
