We are seeking to appoint salaried General Practitioners to join our esteemed healthcare team. This role is available within our network of practices managed by Hywel Dda University Health Board, providing an opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment.

This vacancy arises due to the retirement of the previous post holder, and we invite applications from qualified candidates to become part of a practice serving approximately 7,200 patients. You will collaborate with a diverse team that includes Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, and experienced nursing and administrative staff. Our Health Board is dedicated to fostering a multi-disciplinary approach to healthcare and is looking to enhance our team further.

As a Salaried GP, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality medical services, including a combination of in-person consultations, telephone triage, and remote consultations. The practice utilizes E-Consult and is committed to efficient workflow management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive general medical services to registered patients, including temporary residents.
  • Conduct consultations and provide appropriate clinical management for patients visiting the practice or requiring home visits.
  • Offer leadership and clinical guidance to the clinical team.
  • Facilitate telephone and virtual consultations, managing patient inquiries effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records of all patient interactions and contribute to electronic data management and audits as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practice and entry on the GP Register.
  • Completion of Training in General Practice or equivalent qualifications.
  • Inclusion on a Medical Performers List or eligibility for inclusion.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Desirable:

  • Academic achievements (awards, distinctions, etc.).
  • MRCGP qualification.

Skills and Competencies

Essential:

  • Ability to manage a diverse primary care caseload and adapt to varying workloads.
  • Capacity to make independent clinical decisions and seek guidance when necessary.
  • Commitment to teamwork and multi-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Strong communication and counseling skills.
  • Understanding of clinical risk management and governance.
  • Proficiency in IT and ability to draft reports and documentation efficiently.

Desirable:

  • Experience in audit, research, teaching, and training.
  • Research interests relevant to the specialty.
  • Experience in teaching or training roles.
