Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at U-Educate. As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a primary setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise students on a 1:1 or small group basis, providing additional learning support as identified.
  • Support students with SEN and SEMH needs, engaging and motivating them to complete work set.
  • Monitor student progress and development, providing feedback to the classroom teacher.
  • Plan and prepare lessons for individuals, Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP) groups, and whole classes.
  • Deliver agreed lessons and learning experiences to individuals, groups, and whole classes as required.
  • Assess and mark student development, progress, and attainment.
  • Use specialist skills to meet the physical and emotional needs of students, including those with special educational, physical, or emotional needs.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an educational setting supporting students with SEN.
  • Experience working with SEND children across the primary age range.
  • Working knowledge of the EYFS Framework and the national curriculum.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • Leadership skills to lead a class.
  • Ability to support the Class Teacher in planning and preparation of lessons.
  • Inspiring and enthusing students.
  • Experience with SLD, MLD, and SEMH.
  • Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training.

Contract Details

  • 37 hours per week, term time only plus teacher training days.
  • 5 days a week: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 8.10am to 4.00pm, Tuesday 08.00 to 4.30pm, and Friday 8.00am to 3.30pm.
