This is a full-time position, requiring 37 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday. The compensation for this role is competitive, offering up to £500 per day PAYE, which equates to an annual salary of approximately £126,157, or £650 per day through an umbrella company. Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Financial Consultant will play a pivotal role in supporting the Strategic Finance Business Partner, particularly in the following areas:
- Overseeing the financial governance and ensuring robust controls are established and maintained.
- Assisting in the reporting and monitoring of capital programs and funding initiatives.
- Providing expert guidance on the management of capital activities.
- Contributing to the year-end financial close and budget formulation processes.
- Delivering high-quality financial support to senior management, including Executive Directors and Service Managers.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- In-depth knowledge of the annual accounts closedown process and the ability to produce comprehensive Statements of Accounts.
- Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
- Experience in Financial Planning, Control, and Reporting.
- Expertise in developing and refining financial processes.
- Proven track record in delivering financial training to both officers and members.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with finance professionals and operational managers.
- A solid understanding of local government operations and the unique challenges faced in public sector finance.
- Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, including IFRS and CIPFA codes of practice, with the ability to apply these standards effectively.
This role is critical in ensuring that financial services are delivered with professionalism and a focus on customer satisfaction. The Senior Financial Consultant will be instrumental in fostering a culture of financial accountability and governance within the organization.
