Sims Limited is a global leader in metal recycling, committed to creating a world without waste to preserve our planet. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Maintenance Engineer Apprentice to join our team in Stalybridge.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Operations Engineering Manager in developing and implementing planned maintenance systems on site.
- Carry out breakdown repairs to minimize plant downtime and ensure optimal production levels.
- Manage electrical/mechanical contract staff and provide technical support to Supervisors in plant operations.
- Collaborate with the site SHEC Manager to conduct Risk Assessments and implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to improving energy efficiency and process improvements.
- Perform other duties as required by the Company, while adhering to all policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Community.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, combined with integrity and confidentiality.
- Good IT skills and ability to manage time effectively.
- Education to Approved Electrician standard, with experience supervising contractors.
- Thorough technical skills, including experience with PLC's, variable speed drives, instrumentation, and installation.
- Sound knowledge of electrical safety legislation and good Mechanical knowledge.
