About the Role
The National Trust is seeking a highly skilled Audience Development Lead - Public Fundraising to join our team on a 24-month fixed-term contract. As a key member of our Fundraising Growth programme, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing a comprehensive audience growth plan for on-property fundraising, mass fundraising, and legacy development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a growth plan for on-property fundraising, mass fundraising, individual giving, and legacy development, identifying opportunities for new propositions and products.
- Assess the potential income and required expenditure for various fundraising initiatives, using data and market research to inform your approach.
- Manage input from stakeholders across the organization, representing your audience segment in programme workshops and defining the capabilities required to drive fundraising growth.
- Collaborate with external specialists to assess hypothesis quality and develop new capabilities that can be tested within the programme.
Requirements
- Experience as a senior member of staff developing and delivering public fundraising in complex national organizations, ideally with central and regional public fundraising functions.
- Developed fundraising strategies for public fundraising, including growth strategies.
- Solid understanding of audiences and a track record of developing new propositions or products for a particular audience, using insights and data to inform your approach.
- Ability to keep up to date with external trends in fundraising and spot opportunities for innovation and new relationships.
- Collaborative, creative, and adept at building and challenging ideas in a productive and positive way.
- Outstanding communications skills and confidence working with stakeholders at all levels.
- Passion for fundraising and a strong desire to advance the charitable mission of the National Trust.
- Understanding of different acquisition funnels and retention journeys in public fundraising.
