About the Role:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information governance and be able to deliver high-quality work from day one. This role requires a professional who is a team player, dedicated to working exclusively with our organisation, and capable of managing a full caseload independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responding to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Handling subject access requests in compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
- Conducting internal reviews related to information governance and providing expert advice to council officers on a range of information governance issues.
- Advising on information sharing agreements and their implications, as well as assessing and advising on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for various services.
- Managing cases involving breaches of data protection within the council and providing guidance on data protection best practices.
Requirements:
- Ability to respond effectively to FOIA, EIR, and subject access requests.
- Experience conducting internal reviews and advising on information sharing agreements.
- Knowledgeable in assessing and advising on DPIAs.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong team player with a sensible approach to workload management.
- Ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running with a full caseload.
