Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Manager/Project Quantity Surveyor to join our Newcastle Real Estate team at Turner & Townsend. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in guiding our clients and their professional teams on exciting and iconic projects across the Northeast.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in feasibility studies and write procurement reports to ensure accurate and timely delivery of projects.
  • Estimate and cost plan to produce and present the final cost plan, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  • Tender and procure, including managing the pre-qualification stage, to ensure that the best value for money is achieved.
  • Deal effectively with post-contract cost variances and change control processes to minimize risks and maximize benefits.
  • Take personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects, ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place.
  • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client, providing clear and concise insights into project performance.
  • Contribute to value engineering initiatives to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients, ensuring that all parties are satisfied with the outcome.
  • Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that their needs are met.

Requirements

  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle.
  • Professionally qualified (RICS or similar) with a degree or HNC level qualification.
