Quantity Surveyor Role at Gleeson Homes

Gleeson Homes is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Regional Commercial team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering our Group Business plan, Commercial objectives, budgets, and future growth requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage build and infrastructure costs, cash flows, cost movements, and variations at site and plot level, adhering to Group policies and processes.
  • Develop and maintain strong working partnerships with Housing Associations, third-party providers, and sub-contractors to ensure contractual terms are met and orders are placed, managed, and settled according to Group policies and procedures.
  • Procure subcontract trades involving other internal departments, ensuring the best value is obtained and subcontractor prequalification criteria are met.
Requirements:
  • A relevant qualification or significant experience in Quantity Surveying.
  • Proficient user of COINS and MS Excel packages.
  • Good understanding of the financial implications of build methods and sequences.
  • Strong finance and commercial awareness, as well as technical knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of the Construction Industry, commercial and financial management systems, and controls.
  • Knowledge of codes of practice impacting commercial matters, such as Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, and HSE.
  • Knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to positively influence others to ensure commercial budgets, policies, and standards are respected and managed.
  • Able to see and promote innovative ideas.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel sites essential.
