We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Histopathologist to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our pathology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide accurate and timely diagnostic reports for histopathology and non-gynaecological cytology specimens.
- Lead and manage a team of histopathologists and cytologists to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service outcomes.
- Collaborate with clinical colleagues to provide expert advice and guidance on diagnostic and treatment options.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and develop treatment plans.
- FRCPath or equivalent qualification.
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- Wide experience of reporting in cellular pathology.
- Ability to organise and manage clinical workload.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience of coronial post-mortem work and willingness to participate in autopsy rota.
- Experience in small group teaching and supervising.
- Research publications and experience of applying research outcomes to clinical and surgical problems.
