Argyll and Bute Council, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time
Job Opportunity

NHS Scotland is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, promoting equality and eliminating discrimination. We strive to create a workplace where every employee feels valued and empowered to excel.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Primary Care Mental Health team in Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership. As part of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality mental health services to our community.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a mental health setting, preferably in Primary Care or Community Mental Health, is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities will include delivering low-intensity psychological interventions, promoting vocational activities, and supporting re-enablement. You will also have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills, particularly in working with mild to moderate mental health issues and using low-intensity psychological therapies such as Behavioural activation and delivery of therapeutic and psycho-educational groups.

We offer a supportive and inclusive work environment, with opportunities for training, support, and supervision. Computer literacy and a driving license are essential for this role.

For more information, please contact Evelyn Robertson, Argyll & Bute Primary Care Mental Health Team Lead, or Carrie Hill, OT Professional Lead - Mental Health.

NHS Scotland is committed to reducing its full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff.
