The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member who is attuned to the needs of service users. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential. This role is integrated within the ward teams, assisting our nursing and pharmacy staff in addressing any medication management concerns.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour primary responsibility will be to deliver a safe, efficient, and precise ward-based pharmacy service by closely collaborating with pharmacists, nursing, and medical personnel. This position will facilitate the development of your skills in Medicines Optimisation and Patient Counselling. Additionally, you may be required to assist the Inpatients Pharmacy for a couple of hours weekly, necessitating a systematic and adaptable approach to your work.

As a crucial member of the cardiovascular pharmacy team, you will support service delivery across various sub-specialties. We are in search of an experienced and dedicated pharmacy technician to join our team.
Job OverviewResponsibilitiesYou will operate in a structured setting, providing support to the broader team to achieve key departmental objectives. This includes delivering pharmacy services to patients with complex cardiovascular conditions and mentoring junior staff. Candidates should possess demonstrable competencies in hospital clinical pharmacy practice, outstanding communication skills, and a commitment to pharmaceutical care. Additionally, candidates should be highly organized.
QualificationsEssential Knowledge/Qualifications- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills (QCF) along with Level 3 QCF Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science or GPhC accredited equivalent.
- Completion of the Accreditation Checking Pharmacy Technician Scheme (ACPT).
- Participation in the London Pharmacy Education and Training - Technician Self Development Programme - Stage 2 or equivalent.
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- A1 workplace Assessor or working towards Practice Supervisor, Train the Trainer, or equivalent qualification.
- Medicine Management Accreditation or equivalent.
- Experience working in a pharmacy dispensary.
- Experience in a hospital pharmacy dispensary.
- Experience in a clinical ward-based team.
- Experience in a role with medication management responsibilities.
- Prior experience in delivering induction and competency-based training.
- Experience supervising staff and managing daily workloads.
- Evaluated experience in participating in project and audit work.
- Demonstrated experience in appraising staff and setting performance objectives.
- Evaluated experience in recruitment and selection of staff.
- Proven ability to dispense accurately to established standards.
- Proven ability to counsel and provide advice to patients regarding their medications.
- Proven ability to assess patients' own medication accurately.
- Proven ability to record patient medicine reconciliation accurately.
- Proven ability to prioritize and organize routine daily tasks using initiative while supervising and leading a team.
