About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Engagement Officer to join our team at Cambridge University Press & Assessment. As a key member of our Sustainability team, you will play a vital role in bringing our sustainability ambitions to life for our audiences and stakeholders across the world.

About the Job

The successful candidate will have experience in planning and delivering stakeholder engagement events and campaigns, with a strong understanding of the role of communications and marketing to reach people through a range of channels. You will be responsible for leading on the creation, planning, and delivery of a stakeholder engagement and communications programme designed to demonstrate our ambitions to the world, encourage people to support and work with us, and to showcase our progress to the world.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive stakeholder engagement and communications strategy to promote our sustainability initiatives and goals.
  • Plan and deliver stakeholder engagement events and campaigns to raise awareness and build support for our sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with our communications teams and colleagues across the globe to harness their expertise and utilise your skills and ideas to plan and deliver the best communications campaigns and engagement programmes possible.
  • Measure the success of our sustainability campaigns against key performance indicators (KPIs) and present your analysis to stakeholders, taking forward learnings to your next projects.
  • Ensure that our progress on a range of sustainability issues are communicated accurately, in alignment with our regulatory and sector commitments.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who has a proven track record in stakeholder engagement and communications. You will have excellent attention to detail, be highly organised, and have the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across teams and countries. You will also have a strong understanding of the role of communications and marketing in reaching people through a range of channels.

Your Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in the communications, marketing, or event management industry.
  • Great attention to detail and experience of developing high-quality copy.
  • Experience measuring and reporting on campaign and event success.
  • Excellent communicator and confident collaborator.
  • A proactive team player who seeks solutions to challenges.
  • Highly organised and motivated to manage competing deadlines, with experience of using project management tools.
  • Understanding of common sustainability challenges for businesses and the role of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in driving global change.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary and a range of benefits, including private medical and permanent health insurance, discretionary annual bonus, group personal pension scheme, life assurance, and green travel schemes. We are a hybrid working organisation, and we offer a range of flexible working options from day one. We expect most hybrid-working colleagues to spend 80% of their time at their dedicated office or location. We will also consider other work arrangements if you wish to work more flexibly or require adjustments due to a disability.

Why Join Us

Joining us is your opportunity to pursue potential. You'll belong to a collaborative team that's focusing on new and better ways to serve students, teachers, and researchers across the globe – for the benefit of individuals, society, and the planet. Sharing our mission will inspire your own growth, development, and progress, in an environment which embraces difference, change, and aspiration. We believe better outcomes come through diversity of thought, background, and approach. We welcome applications from people from all backgrounds and communities, actively seeking to employ people from a wide range of different communities.
