About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Criminal Duty Solicitor to join our team at Tuckers Solicitors in Kent.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading criminal law firm that operates nationwide, representing clients across a wide range of general and serious criminal offences.

As a Criminal Duty Solicitor, you will be responsible for providing representation at police stations, representing clients in criminal proceedings, and liaising with clients, counsel, defendants, and other parties.

You will also be responsible for collating and reviewing documentation and evidence, obtaining medical/accountancy evidence when required, and negotiating with prosecutors on behalf of clients.

Key skills and qualifications for this role include:

  • Full qualification as a police station representative
  • Experience of criminal law within the last five years
  • Knowledge of the Legal Aid system
  • Advocacy and litigation skills
  • Clean and valid practicing certificate at the time of applying
  • Excellent client care skills with the ability to represent vulnerable clients
