Maintenance Engineer

The Sterling Choice is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our FMCG manufacturing facility by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Repair: Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment, including conveyors, motors, belts, and pumps. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution.
  • Fault Finding: Utilize advanced fault-finding techniques to quickly identify and rectify issues within the production line. Work closely with the production team to understand recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Installation and Upgrades: Assist with the installation of new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper integration into existing systems. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to upgrade or modify existing equipment to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team, providing support and expertise as needed. Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when necessary to source parts and services.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline)
  • Strong experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance within an FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in fault finding and repairing electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Proactive approach to maintenance and a keen interest in improving systems and processes
