Senior Energy Storage Systems Engineer - Electric Vehicles / Battery Technology

Our esteemed client, EVEREC, a leader in the electric vehicle sector, is seeking a Senior Energy Storage Systems Engineer to oversee the specifications, delivery, and integration of high-voltage battery energy storage systems.

In this role, you will cultivate and sustain a profound expertise in powertrain electrification while contributing to the advancement of Electrical and Electronic frameworks in accordance with the Systems Engineering Process.

You will serve as the primary liaison for coordinating activities with both internal teams and external design partners or suppliers, ensuring that quality, cost, and delivery objectives are met for each initiative by collaborating across various Engineering disciplines.

Your responsibilities will include leading the support for New Product Introduction at both domestic and international production sites, addressing build challenges until resolution, and adhering to the Engineering Product Development process while demonstrating compliance through comprehensive design documentation.

Role: Senior Energy Storage Systems Engineer

Work Arrangement: Hybrid Model with Flexible Remote Days

Salary Range: Competitive Compensation

Working Hours: Standard Business Hours

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment of Electric Vehicle and Hybrid Systems.
  • Collaboration with suppliers on innovative and emerging technologies.
  • Assistance in the development of Electrical and Electronic frameworks.
  • Validation and approval of Hybrid/Electric Vehicle systems and their interactions with other subsystems.
  • Support for vehicle integration design evaluations and Hybrid/Electric systems design assessments.
  • Management of work packages to secure supplier endorsements.
  • Ownership of reliability to ensure lessons are learned and issues are not repeated in future projects.
  • Establishment of Engineering standards, best practices, and technical specifications.
  • Enhancement of agreed business processes, systems, and standards to ensure efficient and predictable outcomes.
  • Streamlining parts and designs across various products.
  • Provision of technical support for Reliability, Quality Improvement, and Value Analysis/Value Engineering.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years in engineering roles.
  • At least 2 years in the relevant field.
  • Experience with high-voltage energy storage systems and components in low-volume vehicle or bus applications.
  • Background in system integration, testing, and validation of electric powertrain components, including electric machines, power electronics, converters, and batteries.
  • Familiarity with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), and Range-Extended Electric Vehicles (REEV).
  • Knowledge of both off-board and on-board charging technologies.
  • Strong foundation in vehicle electrical systems and control methodologies.
  • Understanding of High Voltage Safety and relevant legislation.
  • Experience with Automotive Electromagnetic Compliance.
  • Proficient in DFMEA as both a user and creator.
  • Knowledge of Safety Critical Systems (ISO26262) and hazard analysis.
