We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SENCO, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate SEN Provision: Develop and implement strategies to support the learning and development of students with SEND, working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
- Assess and Plan: Conduct assessments and create individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEND, monitoring and reviewing progress to make adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective support for students with SEND.
- Develop and Implement Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to support the learning and development of students with SEND, including training staff and parents as needed.
- Monitor and Review Progress: Monitor and review the progress of students with SEND, making adjustments to support plans as necessary.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience working with students with SEND.
- SENCO Qualification: Hold a SENCO qualification or be willing to work towards one.
- Experience: Have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role, working with students with SEND.
- Master's Degree: Hold a Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Training in Interventions: Have training in specific interventions for students with SEND.
This role involves working within a school environment, collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies. Some flexibility in working hours may be required to attend meetings and support students outside regular school hours.
