About the Role:

This is a 9-month maternity cover position, ideal for someone looking for career development and a challenging opportunity to work with a complex caseload. As a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust, you will have the opportunity to work with a range of clients, including those with complex PTSD, and develop your skills in trauma-focused therapy and emotional regulation work.

About the Team:

Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality mental health support to veterans. We work in a range of community settings to ensure consistent access to care and treatment. We are an NHS-led partnership alongside three Forces-friendly charities, Walking with the Wounded, Stoll, and The Ripple Pond.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct specialist assessments using interview, formal psychometric, and other assessment methods as appropriate.
  • Formulate and devise psychological treatment and management plans for referred clients with a range of problems of severity and complexity.
  • Provide psychological treatment for clients using a range of psychological interventions appropriate to the service.
  • Offer psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals to assist in the formulation, diagnosis, and treatment of clients.
  • Provide reports and communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner concerning the assessment, formulation, and treatment plans of clients.
  • Liaise with other health and social care staff from a range of agencies in the care provided to clients.
  • Provide case management if required.
