Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our client, a leading property developer and contractor in London and the home counties. As a Senior Construction Manager, you will be responsible for managing construction programmes, ensuring timely completion of projects, and maintaining a high level of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Construction Programme: You will be responsible for drafting construction programmes, agreeing subcontractor programmes, and incorporating them into the overall construction programme. You will also identify potential delays and implement measures to keep the programme on track.
- Managing Steady Flow of Design Information: You will work closely with design stakeholders, including project architects, engineers, and consultants, to ensure that the site receives the necessary design information to progress works on site as per programme.
- Budget Conscious: You will be responsible for managing the construction budget, ensuring that weekly spend on general labour and materials is within budget parameters. You will also negotiate and award work packages to subcontractors through the main office.
Requirements:
- Previous Experience: You must have previous experience as a Project Manager, preferably in residential construction, with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
- Programme Conscious: You must be very programme conscious and driven, with a strong understanding of construction programmes and the ability to manage them effectively.
- Management and Health and Safety Qualifications: You must hold relevant management and health and safety qualifications.
- Communication and Leadership Skills: You must have strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with design stakeholders, subcontractors, and other team members.
- IT Skills: You must have strong IT skills, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
