Your Team

The Solutions Team at Oxa is expanding quickly and is responsible for the entire customer journey. This team leverages Oxa's exceptional expertise to deliver practical, commercially viable autonomous solutions that offer real value to clients. The team is a unique mix of technical and commercial problem solvers with experience in deploying robotic systems and addressing autonomy challenges. Team members have the opportunity to engage in diverse roles, from coding to collaborating with clients to identify optimal solutions.

The Solutions Team defines and may create the tools necessary for successful solution delivery. The team aims to comprehend all aspects of the system to a degree that allows them to present and clarify each component's role in the overall solution to clients. Members of the Solutions Team come from various cultural and professional backgrounds, all united in their pursuit of Universal Autonomy with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Your Role

As an Operations Solutions Engineer, you will oversee the management and advancement of an autonomous shuttle service in operation. This dynamic role provides exposure to all components of our architecture and requires a blend of engineering expertise and organizational capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement shuttle service schedules and operations.
  • Collaborate with clients to define development requirements.
  • Conduct technical gap analyses and generate new feature requests as needed.
  • Develop safety cases, including route analyses, risk assessments, and operational procedures.
  • Perform vehicle acceptance testing and shakedown.
  • Commission, calibrate, deploy, and verify computing, software, sensing, and networking systems.
  • Build, upgrade, and maintain autonomous vehicle maps.
  • Monitor, debug, tune, and conduct post-mortem analyses of autonomous vehicles in the field.
  • Provide ongoing customer support for the shuttle service.

Accountabilities

  • Generate technical roadmaps and ensure the end-to-end delivery of autonomy solutions to clients.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer use cases and requirements, designing and implementing solutions accordingly.
  • Ensure efficient and timely solution delivery by participating in regular sprint and alignment meetings, identifying and addressing risks, technical gaps, scope creep, or performance issues that may hinder commercial deployment.
  • Collaborate and share knowledge with the broader Oxa team, gaining a wide understanding of various autonomy components and tools to effectively deploy, debug, and tune solutions in the field.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience in the delivery and operation of robotic systems within a commercial or industrial context.
  • Experience working at the intersection of software and hardware: deploying, configuring, debugging, and evaluating systems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to translate client concepts and requirements into technical solutions or services.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in launching robotics or autonomous products.
  • Ability to translate client concepts and requirements into technical solutions or services.
  • Familiarity with project management tools to ensure timely delivery.
  • Knowledge of or experience with:
    • Robotics: localization, mapping, planning, perception, machine learning, control, sensing modalities, commissioning, and calibration.
    • Development: C++/Python, Linux, shell scripting, networking, version control.
    • Engineering: systems integration, proof of concept prototyping, verification and validation, platform hardware, and configuration.
