Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Specialist

Join Rolls-Royce Submarines as a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist and contribute to the development of manufacturing processes and methods for the External Supply Chain. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing the capability of manufacturing suppliers, governing the execution of Manufacturing Engineering activities, and influencing product definition and final form manufacture.

This exciting opportunity is part of our External Supply Chain team, where you will work with external suppliers to deliver nuclear products. Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the capability of manufacturing suppliers and support source selection and approval in the supply chain
  • Govern the execution of Manufacturing Engineering activities in the External Supply Chain to assure the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture
  • Influence product definition and final form manufacture using fundamental knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA
  • Act as the primary Manufacturing Engineering representative within a cross-functional team for their suppliers
  • Use negotiation/coaching skills and business acumen to build customer and supplier relationships at all levels
Requirements
  • Experience in fabrications, valves, complex assemblies, machining, and critical classified components
  • Degree or equivalent in an engineering or related technical discipline with previous experience in manufacturing engineering and/or process engineering
  • Strong analytical skills and proven record of technical problem-solving skills along with knowledge of six sigma/lean techniques
  • Good communication and organizational skills, with the ability to present at all levels
