Position Overview

Skanska, a prominent name in project development and construction, is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and responsible environment that contributes to societal advancement. We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to enhance our Infrastructure division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage subcontractor administration processes (NEC4 various options) including payment certifications, liabilities, and change management.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure effective cost and value management of project segments, incorporating earned value analysis, cost forecasting, and monthly reconciliations.
  • Oversee the procurement of subcontract packages as projects progress.
  • Identify and assess changes, risks, and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior commercial and operational staff.
  • Engage with client representatives on-site regarding commercial matters, including cost agreements.
  • Maintain control over project documentation, ensuring all necessary records are created and securely stored.
  • Utilize commercial and document management IT systems (such as Oracle, CEMAR, ProjectWise) effectively.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the role.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a senior quantity surveyor, particularly within a main contractor setting, focusing on large civil engineering, infrastructure, or highways projects.
  • Strong understanding of contract and commercial law.
  • Familiarity with NEC forms of contract, including knowledge of contractual obligations and required notices.
  • Expertise in subcontract administration.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline.
  • MRICS or CICES accreditation is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various disciplines.
  • Strong time management skills, capable of adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in IT and open to the adoption and development of commercial digital systems and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
