About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our European Tax team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely compliance with indirect tax requirements across multiple European jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the European Tax team to ensure compliance with indirect tax requirements in various European countries.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of European VAT rules and regulations.
  • Work closely with the Controllership function to ensure accurate and timely VAT filing and refund claims.
  • Monitor developments in indirect tax rules and regulations, and implement changes to CHEP's VAT processes and systems as needed.
  • Conduct regular reviews and testing of VAT control environments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • University Graduate Degree in a relevant field.
  • Recognized tax/accountancy qualification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in indirect tax, preferably with managing internal indirect tax affairs of multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Experience gained in Big 4/Tier A Accountancy firm or Blue-Chip in-house tax department.
  • Strong Excel skills and knowledge of SAP.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
