Position Overview

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the operational needs of the University of Bristol's residential facilities. This position involves delivering a variety of portering services across all residential properties, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment for students, residents, and guests.

Key Responsibilities

The individual in this role will be responsible for:

  • Acting as the primary contact for residents needing assistance with facilities, addressing concerns related to services and amenities.
  • Conducting health and safety compliance checks and ensuring adherence to regulations.
  • Providing reception services, which include managing inquiries, overseeing accommodation check-ins and check-outs, handling lost property, verifying identity cards, and authorizing contractors and visitors.
  • Accepting deliveries and assisting visitors, including prospective students and event attendees, while supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Performing minor maintenance tasks, identifying equipment damage, and documenting reported issues, while resolving them when possible or escalating them appropriately.
  • Reporting health and safety risks, faults, and maintenance concerns through the designated channels.
  • Conducting patrols of the residential properties to ensure building integrity and security, managing key issuance for students, staff, and conference attendees, and facilitating access for maintenance personnel.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in a customer service role.
  • Background in maintenance or facilities support.
  • A valid UK driving license.
