We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Protection Specialist to enhance our dynamic and supportive team.

We encourage applications from candidates with a background in environmental protection interventions, including but not limited to, the investigation of noise disturbances, drainage issues, and pest management.
This role is ideal for individuals pursuing a BSc or MSc in Environmental Health or those progressing towards chartered status following their academic qualifications.
Main Responsibilities:
- Investigate complaints related to nuisances (noise, dust, odour, and light), drainage, and pest issues, ensuring thorough follow-up and appropriate enforcement actions.
- Assist in the collection of stray animals when necessary.
- Upon demonstrating proficiency in a specialized area (air quality, acoustics, contaminated land, etc.), engage in more technical tasks such as responding to planning inquiries, reviewing technical documentation, and preparing reports for committees or government agencies.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, efficiency, and reliability, thriving in a fast-paced and challenging environment. They should be adaptable to changing demands, prioritize effectively, and communicate clearly with colleagues, elected officials, senior management, and the public.
A flexible approach to working hours is essential, as evening and weekend work may occasionally be required. Participation in the standby out-of-hours service is also expected, with additional compensation provided. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes are required (a vehicle will be supplied for stray collection).
This position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis (36 hours per week).
