Head Chef Trainee

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our kitchen team at Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa as a Commis Chef. As a key member of our brigade, you will be responsible for assisting our Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of our award-winning dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in the planning and preparation of menus, including the sourcing of fresh local ingredients.
- Work collaboratively with a team of 16 chefs and 5 Kitchen Porters to deliver exceptional service and high-quality dishes.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of our menu offerings and be able to provide recommendations to guests.
- Participate in the training and development of junior team members to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a high-volume kitchen environment, preferably within a quality hotel or restaurant setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, to meet the demands of our busy kitchen.
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.
