Postdoctoral Researcher Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the University of Oxford. The successful candidate will participate in a large, multi-institutional and multidisciplinary Research Unit funded by the NIHR.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop research questions collaboratively and conduct individual research, analyzing detailed virological, clinical and epidemiological data.
  • Support the laboratory work of PhD students and develop, establish, and pursue appropriate analytical protocols and techniques to support research.
  • Regularly participate in Theme meetings and contribute to steering group meetings and the research Unit annual meeting.
  • Write research articles at a national level for peer-reviewed journals and reviews, and present papers at national conferences.
  • Agree clear task objectives, organize, and delegate work to other members of the team and coach other members of the group on specialist methodologies or procedures.
  • Liaise with and provide information to project stakeholders and represent the research group at external meetings/seminars.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil in a virology, microbiology or molecular biology subject area, combined with relevant laboratory experience. The post is full time (37.5 hours) and fixed-term until 31/03/2027.
