Are you a skilled maintenance engineer with a strong background in mechanical systems? We are seeking to connect with professionals who possess extensive mechanical maintenance expertise. Our client, a leading facilities management service provider, is actively looking for a mechanical maintenance engineer to oversee operations in a prominent commercial building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance and respond to reactive maintenance needs for mechanical systems and plumbing installations.
  • Perform fault diagnosis and disassembly on Air Handling Units (AHUs).
  • Execute troubleshooting and repairs on Fan Coil Units (FCUs).
  • Inspect and maintain pumps, including bearings and mechanical seals.
  • Carry out routine checks on fire safety systems, including sprinklers and emergency lighting.
  • Manage water treatment processes, including tap tests and cooling tower inspections.
  • Oversee chilled and hot water systems maintenance.
  • Provide plumbing maintenance services.
  • Conduct visual inspections and troubleshooting for generators.
  • Manage pressurization units and calorifiers.
  • Inspect and maintain heat exchangers.
  • Replace copper and lead piping as necessary.
  • Operate Building Management Systems (BMS).

Qualifications

  • Mechanically qualified to City & Guilds Level 2 or NVQ (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in building services maintenance within commercial environments.
  • Physically capable of navigating high-rise structures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with facility management teams.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary range of £46,000 - £48,000.
  • Entitlement to 25 days of annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
  • Overtime opportunities available at 1.5x standard rate, 2x for Sundays and bank holidays.
