AWE Plc is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Planning and Preparedness Manager

This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's emergency response strategy and site emergency plans. As a key member of the Emergency Planning and Preparedness Group, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the company's emergency response strategy, leading a dedicated team, and mentoring individuals to ensure the successful implementation of emergency plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deputise for the Senior Emergency Planning and Preparedness Manager and provide support in managing the team.
  2. Assess staff performance, measured against agreed personal objectives and accountabilities, and take corrective action to improve performance where necessary.
  3. Liaise with the Senior Emergency Planning and Preparedness Specialists to support their task management requirements.
  4. Ensure that Emergency Planning and Preparedness Group deliverables meet quality/delivery commitments and satisfy customer, statutory, regulatory, and internal emergency planning, preparedness, and response requirements.
  5. Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and interfaces.
  6. Visible commitment to safety improvement programmes and follow up on accidents and injuries.
Requirements:
  1. Holder of a Diploma or higher qualification in Emergency Response, Emergency Planning, or a related subject or equivalent working experience.
  2. Able to demonstrate their ability to manage and influence people and to motivate others while adapting their leadership style as required.
  3. Experience in managing and resolving complex, cross-discipline, technical, and organisational issues while identifying problems, evaluating options, and formulating effective solutions.
  4. Confident dealing with conflict, while also being able to communicate, present, and negotiate with all levels of the business.
  5. Lead by example, with experience of team management in challenging situations.
  6. Experienced in working within high-hazard industries.
  7. The role will require the successful candidate to be open to multi-site travel, occasionally including countrywide and potentially overseas.
  8. Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for the role.
