Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to a child with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals.
  • Work closely with the child, their family, and other professionals to develop and implement a personalized support plan.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal care and mobility, as needed.
  • Help to create a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting the child's emotional and social well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with the child, their family, and other professionals to ensure seamless support and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a 1:1 support role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and disability legislation, including the EHCP process.
  • Basic knowledge of child development and learning theories, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
