Job Title: Accommodation Needs Officer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accommodation Needs Officer to join our team at Corus Consultancy. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals with mental health issues who have perpetrated or are at risk of violence, and struggle to access or engage with mental health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage risk for individuals with mental health issues, and develop strategies to prevent and reduce crime in Lewisham.
- Collaborate with a network of agencies and services to provide support and guidance to individuals, focusing on addressing their needs for education, training, employment, accommodation, and health support.
- Facilitate multi-agency meetings to manage risk and identify lead professionals for each service user, as appropriate.
- Provide advocacy and support to facilitate the personal and social development of service users, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, statutory national standards, local policy, and protocols.
- Case manage service users within the community setting, using a range of creative and timely interventions to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and statutory national standards.
- Stay up-to-date with existing and new developments, such as Government legislation, financial practices, and roles of other agencies.
- Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the Equal Opportunities Policy and Anti-Discriminatory Practice.
- Undertake word processing and data inputting, including sensitive and confidential information.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of criminal justice legislation, particularly the Crime and Disorder Act, and related fields, including education, training, and employment (ETE), housing linked to criminogenic need.
- Knowledge of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice, and their importance in working with perpetrators and victims in a risk-based environment.
- Good knowledge of mental health services and support services for young individuals.
- Strong risk assessment and risk management skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Strong experience in working with young people with mental health concerns, with the ability to create positive relationships.
- Experience of delivering interventions to address the resettlement needs of perpetrators, victims, or other vulnerable adults.
- Strong and detailed experience in risk assessment and risk management skills.
- Experience of implementing, monitoring, and reviewing programs.

- Sensitivity to the needs of victims, perpetrators, and their families.
