About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our team at Unlikely Artificial Intelligence Limited. As a key member of our Applied Science team, you will play a critical role in delivering model prototypes to production, designing and implementing new AI features on our platform, and ensuring the stability and performance of our models in production settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy deep learning models, including Large Language Models (LLMs), to production environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI features into our platform, ensuring seamless user experiences.
  • Conduct comprehensive performance evaluations of AI models, focusing on latency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Communicate complex AI solutions to colleagues, facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Analyze and inspect large-scale datasets, ensuring data integrity and scalability.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Machine Learning/Research Engineer role.
  • Experience deploying deep learning models, with a strong understanding of MLOps and containerization.
  • Strong coding skills in Python, including PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Knowledge of ML model deployment, including technologies like Torchserve, Sagemaker, or VertexAI.
  • Understanding of modern best practices for agile software development.
  • Knowledge of the latest developments in NLP, including LLMs and the transformer architecture.

Desirable:

  • Experience with building CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience working in a startup environment.
  • Experience with retrieval augmented generation for LLMs and semantic vector search.
  • Infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform.
