About the Role:

At Hampshire County Council, we are advancing our services with the introduction of our Family Help model. This initiative involves the creation of numerous Family Help teams dedicated to delivering personalized assistance to families in their communities.

This evolution presents exceptional opportunities for professional growth, and we are currently in search of seasoned Social Workers to fill the specialized position of Lead Practitioners in Child Welfare. Your extensive experience, with a minimum of five years in the field, will be crucial in guiding our approach and supporting a Family Help team.

In collaboration with the Team Manager and Assistant Team Manager, you will have the chance to:

  • Manage a varied caseload of intricate child welfare cases, ensuring that suitable interventions and support are implemented.
  • Offer expert advice and mentorship to team members, enhancing their professional development and the overall efficacy of the team.
  • Engage with external partners, including agencies and stakeholders, to provide comprehensive support for families.
  • Lead meetings and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders to advocate for the interests of children and families.
  • Participate in a network of Lead Practitioners in Child Welfare, supported by a strategic lead.
