Position Overview

The Central Surgery is in search of a dedicated and skilled Senior Clinical Practitioner (Nurse or Paramedic) to become a vital part of our dynamic healthcare team. A postgraduate qualification in Autonomous Practice and a non-medical prescribing certification are mandatory for this role. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will operate as an independent practitioner, collaborating with other healthcare professionals within our network. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting daily consultations through face-to-face, online, and telephonic interactions to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with various acute, non-acute, and chronic health issues, while initiating direct referrals as necessary.
  • Performing clinical duties autonomously, ensuring accountability for professional actions.
  • Utilizing advanced clinical expertise to deliver comprehensive care to individuals utilizing primary care services.
  • Assessing patients with diverse medical conditions, gathering medical histories, performing physical examinations, and developing management plans with appropriate follow-up.
  • Collaborating with registered GPs and, when suitable, referring patients to other healthcare professionals in both primary and secondary care settings.
  • Coordinating hospital admissions for relevant cases.
  • Engaging in telephone triage, providing telephonic advice, and conducting online consultations.
  • Managing home visits, including those to care facilities.
  • Overseeing palliative care for patients.
  • Prescribing medications as required, acting as a non-medical prescriber.
  • Maintaining precise records in the relevant healthcare management systems.
  • Conducting regular medication reviews and managing medication protocols.
  • Requesting and interpreting diagnostic tests based on patient needs.
  • Handling communications from hospitals and other providers, including acting on Immediate Discharge Summaries and requests for further action.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RGN) or Qualified Paramedic.
  • Postgraduate diploma or degree in Advanced Clinical Practice.
  • Independent non-medical prescriber certification.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
