Relief Driver

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Relief Driver to join our team at Wigan Council. As a Relief Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of vulnerable adults to their destinations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a daily split shift and allocate varying routes using the council's in-house 16-seat minibuses.
• Collect vulnerable adults from their homes, secure them safely on the bus, and transport them to and from day support centres and community interest companies.
• Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of each service user during transit.
• Work collaboratively with Passenger Assistants to provide a high-quality transport service.

About You:

We are looking for a reliable, motivated, and dedicated individual who is passionate about providing excellent customer service. As a Relief Driver, you will need to be flexible, dynamic, and able to complete any bus route at short notice to support wider service delivery.
