Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel, Renewable Energy to join our client's team. As a key member of the legal department, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's strategy and delivering contracts, advice, and training to manage legal risks within the global wind farm and battery energy storage project delivery business.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage contracts for wind farm and battery energy storage projects, covering development, construction, and maintenance phases.
- Proposal and Contract Oversight: Ensure consistent oversight of proposals and contracts, managing their life cycle, setting bidding standards, overseeing negotiations, and handling document processes.
- Commercial and Contract Support: Provide commercial and contract support to sales and project teams, focusing on compliance and risk assessment for project contractors.
- Contract Negotiation: Review and negotiate contracts during tender processes with customers and suppliers, including FIDIC contracts.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Degree in Law.
- Experience: Qualified projects/construction lawyer with 2-4 years PQE, gained in private practice or in-house.
- Background: Experience in a legal / commercial / contract management function relating to international renewable energy projects (ideally onshore or offshore wind farm projects).
- Skills: Strong knowledge of international projects/construction/site construction law in practice, including wind energy contracts in UK or Europe.
- Language: English, Spanish, Chinese and other European Languages are an advantage.
