Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our Renewable Energy team at Hunterphilips. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide comprehensive support throughout tender processes, project acquisition, and project execution phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal support to project teams: Collaborate with project management and senior contract management teams to formulate contracting strategy for projects and analyze contract risks and form mitigation strategies.
  2. Tendering and contract management: Tender to contract award stages, identifying and qualifying subcontractors for identified scopes of work, reviewing and evaluating proposals for tender, and leading the commercial review of bids.
  3. Contract review and preparation: Perform contract review and prepare contract summary documentation for use by project teams.
  4. Business and commercial understanding: Demonstrate an extensive business and commercial understanding, as well as having the ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of compliance matters.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB).
  2. Experience: 6+ years of legal counsel experience in a commercial/construction contracting environment within Wind Energy, Power generation, Oil and gas, Rail, or EPCI.
  3. Skills and qualifications: A strong track record of EPCI contracts associated with offshore construction – Substations, Wind turbines, Cables, Foundations, HVDC, familiarity with project planning and scheduling techniques, detail-oriented legal professional with a proven track record in delivering high-quality results, ability to effectively deliver solutions to complex project issues to senior management and adapt in a fast-paced environment, and willingness to travel for work.
