About the RoleThe Health Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of best practices throughout the Trust's Security, Fire, and Health & Safety systems and processes. This will involve advising relevant external partners, agencies, and regulators on matters relating to health and safety, fire safety, security, and VPR.
Key Responsibilities- Advise on health and safety matters, including fire safety, security, and VPR, to external partners, agencies, and regulators.
- Ensure the implementation of best practices in Security, Fire, and Health & Safety systems and processes.
- Provide professional and managerial leadership to staff within the department.
- Assure statutory committees of the Trust's adherence to legislation or risks arising.
- Manage budgets for services within the remit of this post.
- Investigate security and health and safety incidents and implement learning and remedial actions.
- Negotiate with suppliers of security and lone worker services.
- Line manage the Health and Safety Team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety, security, and compliance, with experience in managing teams and budgets. They will be able to provide professional and managerial leadership, and assure statutory committees of the Trust's adherence to legislation or risks arising.
