Earthwatch is a prominent environmental non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering a harmonious relationship between humanity and nature. Our mission is to catalyze the necessary transformations to achieve ecological balance. We collaborate with a diverse array of stakeholders, employing a distinctive combination of scientific research and community engagement. Our methodology is rooted in empirical evidence and is delivered through captivating and immersive experiences that cultivate knowledge and inspire proactive measures.

We are in search of a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to guide Earthwatch Europe into a transformative era. This leader will utilize an innovative mix of scientific insight and community involvement to address some of the most pressing and intricate environmental issues of our time. The new CEO will be responsible for spearheading the execution of our strategic vision in a manner that yields significant and enduring effects, motivating and influencing individuals, corporations, and policymakers to take decisive action. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring figure with a genuine commitment to environmental advocacy and sustainability.

Candidate Profile

  • A recognized authority with demonstrable expertise, experience, and connections in environmental science or related fields.
  • Proven track record of successfully steering a medium-sized environmental NGO or similar organization through a growth phase while enhancing financial stability.
  • A strong commitment and enthusiasm for championing Earthwatch's existing strategies and initiatives, particularly the role of citizen science in addressing environmental challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and manage a seasoned management team, collaborating effectively with an engaged Chair and Board.
  • Exceptional media, communication, and relationship-building skills, with experience in leveraging these to foster growth, enhance visibility, cultivate partnerships, and support fundraising efforts.
  • Ambition, aptitude, and personal gravitas to take charge of and drive the successful implementation of Earthwatch Europe's strategy to expand organizational activities, diversify funding sources, and achieve greater impact and influence.
