Therefore, the Chief of Staff must have a minimum of 12 years’ professional experience, with a minimum of three years at the Chief of Staff level managing a global team. Additionally, candidates who have military training (they do really like the idea of an equerry) or those who have worked in a royal household would be preferred.

Salary: £80K - £150K - could be flexibility for the right candidate

Hours: 09:00 – 18:00 – flexibility required and hours will vary with peaks and troughs

Benefits: medical insurance; pension; 25 days holiday + bank holidays; discretionary bonus (benefits can be negotiated as a senior position)

Start date:  happy to wait a 3 month notice period

Location: London + international travel for at least four months of the year

You will be based abroad for the first quarter of the year.

EA / Chief of Staff Responsibilities

  • Diary management for the two principals, arranging meetings with VIPs, investors, business executives, politicians, diplomats etc
  • Organising all the logistics for meetings and events, from small intimate dinners and board meetings to larger scale meetings. Every last detail must be catered for – strong levels of attention to detail is a must
  • Feedback details of overall business and private updates to principals
  • Household management on a global scale. Working with the teams on the ground to prepare for the principals’ arrival. This will also involve travelling ahead of the principals
  • Entertaining friends, business associates, dignitaries etc. The successful Chief of Staff must be personable, discreet and confident at this level
  • Manage a team of staff and proactively engage with various staff members to ensure the private residences are running smoothly
  • Correspondence and communication on behalf of your principal. Inbox management for one of the principals – drafting correspondence and replying as them
  • Preparing presentations and briefings ahead of meetings
  • Managing high-level relationships on behalf of your principal and attending meetings in his absence when necessary
  • Recruitment of staff on a global level
  • International travel with the principals and coordinating travel logistics alongside the PAs
  • Private support and lifestyle management for the family
  • Being proactive and remaining two steps ahead of their busy schedules and various interests
  • Being a go to for all of their needs and coordinating with the relevant staff / team members
  • Proactive research ahead of meetings
  • Minute meetings, creating agendas and action follow ups

This is a newly created Chief of Staff role which the successful candidate will be able to grow and make their own as they prove their capabilities.

The client needs someone who will be able to manage very high-level relationships on the principal’s behalf. They are seeking someone who is polished, bright, articulate, professional and engaging. The successful Chief of Staff must have very strong communication skills with an excellent grasp of the English language – perfect spelling and grammar. Ideally, a Russell Group graduate.

The UHNW principals are very personable, bright, driven and ambitious principals who seek an extremely dedicated and career focussed Chief of Staff. There will be the need for flexibility out of hours and extensive international travel, sometimes at the drop of a hat and for extended periods. They are respectful of your time and will not contact you unnecessarily, but they don't want to feel as though they are bothering you if they do need to contact you out of hours when not travelling.
