About the Company: Our client is a leading distributor of speciality chemicals, providing innovative solutions to the personal care and cosmetic manufacturing industries.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Development Chemist to join our team in Buckinghamshire. As a Development Chemist, you will be responsible for developing new formulations to demonstrate the benefits of our products. You will work closely with our application laboratory team to better understand raw materials and develop innovative Skincare, Sun care, Colour Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Haircare formulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing New Formulations: Design and develop new formulations to meet the needs of our customers and the market.
- Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance to customers, helping them to create new formulations and troubleshoot existing ones.
- Material Investigation: Investigate new materials to assess their functionality and possible applications in personal care products.
- Trend Presentations: Develop and design trend presentations supported by formulations, highlighting the benefits and features of our products.
- Marketing Materials: Use your technical expertise to create attractive brochures, presentations, and other marketing materials for our products and formulations.
- Communication: Communicate complex scientific information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in marketing materials.
- Ingredient Evaluation: Evaluate new and interesting ingredient technologies applicable to personal care products.
- Company Strategy: Develop company strategy on how best to promote our products and source new products.
- Support Sales Teams: Support our sales teams by providing them with information, presentations, and formulations.
- Customer Visits: Visit customers with our sales teams in the UK and Poland.
- Industry Events: Travel worldwide to attend technical exhibitions and symposia and to visit suppliers.
Requirements:
- Education: BSc or equivalent in Chemistry or Cosmetic Science or similar subject.
- Experience: Prior formulation experience within the cosmetics or personal care industry would be highly desirable but not essential.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills.
- Language Skills: Skills within spoken or written Polish would be an advantage.
