Job Overview:

The role of the Process Control System Engineer involves delivering specialized technical expertise and support for the process plant within API Manufacturing. This position is crucial in ensuring that operations align with both legislative and corporate standards. The engineer will report directly to the APIM PCS Engineer Team Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer specialized technical support and expertise in Process Control Systems (PCS) to the Operations team, Process Supervisors, engineers, and project teams involved in API Manufacturing.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, validation, and ongoing support of PCS within the API Manufacturing facilities, including hardware and networking components.
  • Ensure the validated state of the PCS in compliance with corporate standards and Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP) principles.
  • Facilitate prompt resolution of PCS-related issues and inquiries, ensuring a high level of service and support to minimize plant downtime.
  • Provide software engineering expertise for system enhancements and improvements.
  • Oversee the provision of all PCS deliverables for engineering projects, including hardware and software components, commissioning, system testing, validation, and associated documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure adequate support for API facilities in projects, maintenance, and operational support.
  • Conduct training sessions for the Operations team and other colleagues on system modifications and enhancements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Automation Engineering, particularly with practical knowledge of Emerson DeltaV systems.
  • Proficiency in writing software test plans, user requirements, and system design documentation.
  • Experience with Automation Compliance projects.
  • Familiarity with process control equipment.
  • Strong understanding of Computerized Systems, compliance regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, coupled with effective communication and training skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
