About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Blundell's School. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day operations of our catering department, ensuring that both front of house and kitchen areas are clean, hygienic, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve and replenish food on counters, maintaining excellent customer care and ensuring a high level of service to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Assist with setting up and clearing function rooms for events, ensuring that all activities comply with Health and Safety and Food Safety legislation.
  • Support basic food preparation tasks, working closely with other team members to ensure the best catering service is provided.
  • Liaise with other team members to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Undertake regular training and refresher courses to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent)
  • A working knowledge of the hospitality industry
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • The ability to use simple machinery within a kitchen environment
  • The ability to interact with children, young adults, and adults
  • A keen eye for detail in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness
