Farm Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Farm Manager to join our team at Quality Service Recruitment. As a Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our poultry farm, ensuring the highest standards of bird welfare and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily operations of the farm, including bird management, crop estimation, and litter management.
  • Supervise and manage relevant staff, ensuring they are trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Liaise with customers and manage external contractors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Implement and maintain robust biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks.
  • Monitor and report on farm performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Work closely with the production management team to achieve optimal crop performance and bird welfare.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and assurance scheme standards, as well as company policies and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Farm Manager or in a similar role within the poultry industry.
  • Relevant qualification in Agriculture, such as an NVQ in Poultry Production or Poultry Passport.
  • Excellent understanding of bird welfare and management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, customers, and contractors.
