Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as Head of Business Development for the UK. This is a newly created permanent role within our business, offering a unique opportunity to drive growth and expansion in the UK and Ireland markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive growth in the UK and Ireland markets, focusing on expanding our freight and customs services.
  • Recruit, lead, mentor, and manage a sales team across the UK, ensuring they are motivated and equipped to meet their targets.
  • Set and achieve revenue goals by identifying and securing new business opportunities while growing existing accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with senior management to align sales efforts with overall business strategy.
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of prospects, ensuring a steady flow of new business opportunities.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on sales performance, forecasts, and market insights.

Core Competencies & Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, with a strong track record of driving business growth in the Freight Forwarding/Logistics industry.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction and retention.
  • In-depth knowledge of the UK & Ireland freight and customs markets is highly desirable.
  • Commercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Resilient, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
